Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions apply to course bookings. Please note in particular our cancellation policy, including our need for a set period of notice in order to avoid cancellation charges being applied.

COURSE FEES

The course fees incorporate two cost centres, both of which are administered centrally by Centurion and presented as an inclusive training package. Typically for the five-day fully residential HEFAT® course, the overall invoice includes:

Training Centre Costs

This covers your presence as a residential delegate at the training centre and use of the centre’s facilities during the course and includes 24-hour full board for four days from Monday to Thursday, and 12-hour half board for one day on Friday. The centre provides single en suite accommodation, breakfast from Tuesday to Friday inclusive, lunch from Monday to Friday inclusive, dinner from Monday to Thursday inclusive, and regular refreshment breaks throughout the week. The training centre costs also include the hire and use of training grounds throughout the week, conference facilities, and access to related equipment and leisure facilities for the duration of the course.

Centurion’s Instructional Costs

This covers your attendance as a delegate on Centurion’s training course and participation in all the organised training activities and instruction. The fees includes attendance at all lectures (theory and practical), access to training aids and other relevant training materials including the Aide-Mémoire, on-site instructor support throughout the course, loan of relevant equipment, continual assessment and certification. Centurion also coordinates the training and booking of accommodation centrally, including registration and all other administration.

VAT

Centurion is a VAT-registered company, and invoices are subject to the addition of Value Added Tax at the rate of 17.5% in accordance with UK law.

RESERVATIONS

Provisional telephone bookings can be held for seven days pending written confirmation. Course bookings not confirmed in writing cannot be guaranteed. At the point of reservation, Centurion will send you the course Joining Forms, which include a Registration Form and Invoice Proforma.  These must be completed and returned before your place can be secured.

Deposit

Upon the return of the completed Registration Form, Centurion may at its discretion request a 50% deposit payable to Centurion Risk Assessment Services Ltd by cheque, credit card (Visa / Mastercard), BACS or CHAPS payment methods.

Balance

The balance of your course fees is payable 7 days prior to the commencement of your course.

Course Timing and Attendance

Good time keeping is essential and delegates are expected to attend the whole course. If a delegate fails to attend any part of a course they may be considered as not having completed the course and therefore may not receive the appropriate certification. Centurion reserves the right to refuse to admit late arrivals to a booked course.

Refresher Training

Delegates attending First Aid Refresher Training must be in possession of an in-date HSE-approved First Aid certificate. Delegates attending a HEFAT® Refresher course must have previously completed a full five-day HEFAT® course with Centurion.

CANCELLATIONS

The following applies to all course bookings:

If an entire course is cancelled by a client giving less than 3 weeks notice:

100% of total course costs remain payable.

Individual cancellations received giving more than 8 days notice:

   Booking cancelled – deposit refunded.

Cancellation received giving less than 7 working days before course due to  commence:

Full (100%) course costs due, including any deposit retained.

No Shows / No Notice

Full (100%) course costs due, including any deposit retained.

To avoid cancellation fees, we advise giving us as much notice as possible of the need to cancel your space on the course, or the requirement to change training dates.

Transfers

Transfer of a delegate or delegates from one course to another is possible, but if Centurion incurs any charges as a result of the transfer such charges will be forwarded to the client for payment. Substitutions may be made at any time providing we receive written notification.

CANCELLATION BY CENTURION OF A SCHEDULED COURSE

Centurion reserves the right to cancel a course at short notice if the company feels there are legitimate reasons for doing so. Centurion’s representatives will give delegates booked on the cancelled course as much notice as possible in order to minimise inconvenience, and offer alternative training dates wherever possible. Centurion cannot be held liable for any financial losses incurred by delegates as a result of such a cancellation. We therefore recommend that delegates insure against any financial losses.

INDEMNITY

Delegates who attend our training do so at their own risk. All personal belongings brought to the training centre remain the responsibility of the owner. Centurion accepts no responsibility or liability for any damages to or theft of clothing and equipment, or injuries sustained by third parties in the course of training, filming, interviewing or conducting any activities whilst on the grounds used by the company, or whilst travelling in vehicles used by Centurion, or whilst using the training equipment issued / demonstrated by the company.
