Centurion begins training in the Middle East
Centurion is delighted to announce the successful launch of our HEFAT® training services in the Middle East. Our Middle East training now complements Centurion’s well-established footprint in the UK and the USA, allowing journalists in the Middle East region direct access to Centurion’s safety training services.
The company successfully ran four tailored training programmes over a two-week period in October, which included two Refresher courses and a tailored 4-day HEFAT® course for frontline staff, and a 1-day Safety Management course for those who deploy others. For many of those on the course, the training provided essential safety advice for working in one of the world’s most volatile and fast-changing news environments.
Centurion was fortunate to be able to use the excellent training facilities provided by a prestigious local partner in Doha, and we plan to offer more Middle East-based courses to journalists working in the region from early next year as a regularly-scheduled event. A further announcement including dates will be circulated as soon as these dates are fixed, and they will also appear on this website. Individuals can book online.
By moving into the Middle East, Centurion is now able to offer essential safety training to local journalists who until now have found it difficult to travel to our courses in the UK or USA. Centurion has always striven to keep our training moving forward, and we see a move into the region as an essential progression of our services to our clients. The facility we use in Doha is excellent, and our partner is committed to working with Centurion to extend this vital training to these journalists.
Centurion first offered HEFAT® training in 1993, and since then we have trained over 20,000 journalists worldwide. Within a few years of our establishment, we identified a need for training in the USA and established a training facility in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, where we now offer monthly courses. In the same way, Centurion has recognised the need for a training venue in the Middle East. With this new expansion, Centurion becomes the only training company to offer regularly-scheduled training in the Middle East. Next year the company plans to further expand our Middle East footprint by offering training in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
