Drug smuggling carries a maximum penalty of death. Border areas are volatile.

On average, 38 people die every day in motorcycle accidents. Road conditions are generally good, however driving standards are erratic. Traffic is heavy in Bangkok. Do not hand over your passport as security for a vehicle.
