Do not travel alone or on foot after dark. Do not travel out of Dushanbe or Khojand unless with persons from an international organisation.

Inadequate sanitation facilities; increasing levels of soil salinity; industrial pollution; excessive pesticides.
Road Safety
Roads outside main towns are poorly maintainede and only accessible by 4x4s. In the spring conditions are treacherous due to avalanches and landslides. Local driving standards are rudimentary and petrol stations can be limited outside towns. Be aware of off-road areas which may be mined.
Preparation and Training
Hostile Environments and Emergency First Aid Training (HEFAT®) (5 days)
Centurion's flagship Hostile Environments and Emergency First Aid Training (HEFAT®) course is for people who operate world wide, particularly in areas where there may be personal health or safety concerns. It is extremely effective for "frontline" organisations.
