Problems
You should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate terrorist attacks. Violent crime is rare. Be aware of street crime, particularly bag snatching. Severe penalties for anyone who breaks the law. Vehicle security, personal security, general travel, navigation, building / office security, hot weather injuries, personal hygiene, sanitation / sterilisation, clothing & equipment, emergency first aid, cultures / customs, communications, emergency shelters. Death penalty for some drug offences.

Safe throughout.
Terrain
Lowland; gently undulating central plateau contains water catchment area and nature preserve.
Climate
Tropical; hot, humid, rainy; two distinct monsoon seasons - north-eastern monsoon from December to March and south-western monsoon from June to September; inter-monsoon - frequent afternoon and early evening thunderstorms.
Natural Hazards
Tropical storms.
Health Issues
Avian influenza, cholera, dengue fever, hepatitis A, polio, typhoid, yellow fever.

Industrial pollution; limited natural fresh water resources; limited land availability presents waste disposal problems; seasonal smoke/haze resulting from forest fires in Indonesia.
Road Safety
Road conditions are generally good. If you are involved in an accident do not leave until police have attended.
