Travel to Transdniestria should be avoided. Vehicle security, personal security, petty crime, general travel, navigation, off road driving, building / office security, cold weather injuries, personal hygiene, sanitation / sterilisation, clothing & equipment, emergency first aid, cultures / customs.

Drink only bottled water.

Rolling steppe, gradual slope south to Black Sea.

Heavy use of agricultural chemicals, including banned pesticides such as DDT, has contaminated soil and groundwater; extensive soil erosion from poor farming methods.

Avoid driving after dark outside Chisinau. Little street lighting, people and animals are often in the road, and road conditions are poor.
