South-eastern Europe, north of Greece.

Weapons (assorted), vehicle security, personal security, kidnappings, legal / illegal checkpoints, armed robberies, general travel, navigation, off road driving, building / office security, clothing & equipment, emergency first aid, cultures / customs, communications, civil disturbances / unrest, helicopter safety, health & hygiene.
Water
Local water is safe.
Terrain
Mountainous territory covered with deep basins and valleys; three large lakes, each divided by a frontier line; country bisected by the Vardar River.
Climate
Warm, dry summers and autumns and relatively cold winters with heavy snowfall.
Natural Hazards
High seismic risks.
Health Issues
Hepatitis A, polio, rabies, tick-borne encephalitis.

Air pollution from metallurgical plants.
Road Safety
Roads in cities are usually good, however they deteriorate in rural areas. Be aware of erratic driving conditions.
