Corporate First Aid

1-day Emergency First Aid at Work course (EFAW)

“EFAW training enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.”  (HSE guidance)

This new HSE approved qualification came into effect on 1 October 2009, along with new guidance on assessing the needs of First Aid in your workplace.

Depending on your workplace risk assessment, you may find you need Emergency First Aiders in addition to your First Aiders at Work (3-day course), or if you are a low risk environment you may only need Emergency First Aiders.  How many you will need depends on how many people are employed at your premises (see Table 2 below).

COURSE DURATION:  6 hours (theory and practical activities)

COURSE SYLLABUS INCLUDES

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Basic hygiene in First Aid
